So is oven cleaner still the accepted method of stripping metal mini's or is there something better rolling around out there?

I've used brake fluid to good effect.

Lots of people recommend Simple green and Pine Sol. The latter of which I used a long time ago and I seem to remember it kinda working, but not as well as brake fluid.

I have never used oven cleaner myself.

I have used oven cleaner on metal recently and it was very painless and only took about an hour with the actual cleaner on the models and then some light scrubbing. With Pine sol and Simple Green I know that they need to soak for a bit and require some scrubbing. The only problem with the over cleaner method I have seen is that it will eat plastic and resin and sometimes even glue.

Pinesol and Simple green seem to be the best as over cleaner will just destroy the model. With pinesol or simple green they will need to soak for a while and then rinsed the a bush will need to be take to them.
